The Syrian Civil Project (SCP) is a registered non-profit association based in Bremen, Germany. It was founded in response to the urgent need to support the rebuilding of a democratic and inclusive civil society in Syria, following decades of authoritarian rule and marginalization of civic life.
We envision a future Syria that is open, just, and united through a shared civic identity that transcends political, religious, and ethnic divisions. We see the civil society as the strongest safeguard against extremism, authoritarianism, and external interference.
Our work is structured around three core goals:
Development Cooperation:
Supporting grassroots projects inside Syria that contribute to social stability and sustainable local development through funding and partnerships.
Popular and Vocational Education
Organizing educational initiatives for children, youth, and adults—focusing on literacy, career guidance, language training, and professional skill development.
Art and Culture as Tools for Dialogue and Identity
Promoting cultural expression and resilience through exhibitions, theater, music, and artistic events that bring people together and celebrate Syria’s diverse heritage.
Political neutrality: We are independent and do not affiliate with any political party or agenda.
Transparency: All funds are used exclusively for the association’s statutory purposes.
Non-profit commitment: Our members are volunteers and receive no financial benefits from the organisation’s funds.
We are building a new Syria—open, just, and driven by the power of its people
