As part of its commitment to fostering dynamic cultural initiatives, the Syrian Civil Project supported the "Syrian House for Arts" initiative to establish a public library with a dedicated children’s section—not simply as a collection of books, but as a lively space that generates cultural and creative activities. The support included equipping the library and creating a child-friendly reading corner. It also extended to cultural initiatives such as a children’s literature competition, which offered young participants a meaningful platform to express their ideas, develop storytelling and presentation skills, and engage in an encouraging and safe environment. This project reflects the organization’s belief in culture as a tool for social empowerment and a pathway to provide children with opportunities for learning, growth, and connection to their community.
As part of its commitment to promoting culture and creativity, the SCP organized a short story writing workshop in the city of Masyaf. The initiative was launched in partnership with the "Cultural and Literary Association" and under the supervision of Dr. Shadi Sawan. The workshop took place twice a week over a period of two months, with the participation of a group of young people with previous experience in creative writing. The goal of the workshop was to develop the literary skills of the participants and enhance their storytelling and expressive abilities in an inspiring and safe environment.
As part of our commitment to supporting local communities, the Syrian Civil Project (SCP) provided support to the "Masyaf Sports Club". The support included football training equipment (balls, cones, marking discs, and sports jerseys) with the aim of promoting a healthy sports environment and empowering young athletes.
On the initiative of the SCP project group in Masyaf, an artistic mural campaign was carried out in the city. It conveyed messages of solidarity with the families of forcibly disappeared persons and called for accountability for perpetrators of human rights violations. The campaign coordinated collaboration between the "Rishat Watan" team from Binnish and the "Syrian House of Arts" in Masyaf. The murals visually expressed rejection of impunity and demanded genuine justice through intellectual, artistic, and human rights-based means.
